Automation Rules and Triggers
Automate repetitive tasks with trigger-based rules that respond to email engagement and contact activity.
How Automation Works
- Trigger: An event occurs (e.g., email opened, link clicked)
- Condition: Optional criteria are checked (e.g., after 3 days, if score > 50)
- Action: An automated action executes (e.g., send follow-up, update status)
Available Triggers
- Email Opened: Contact opened your email
- Link Clicked: Contact clicked a link in your email
- No Open: Contact didn't open after X days
- No Click: Contact opened but didn't click after X days
Available Actions
- Send Follow-Up Email: Automatically send a follow-up
- Enroll in Sequence: Add contact to an email sequence
- Update Contact Status: Change status (e.g., to "Qualified")
- Send Notification: Alert you or your team
Creating a Rule
- Go to Automations in the sidebar
- Click Create Rule
- Select your trigger event
- Configure conditions (time delays, thresholds)
- Choose the action to execute
- Enable the rule
Example Rules
- "If email opened but no click after 2 days → send follow-up"
- "If link clicked → update status to Qualified"
- "If no open after 5 days → enroll in re-engagement sequence"
